One Soldier Not Home For Christmas
Word & Music By
Penny Neff

One soldier not home for Christmas
Is one too many for me
I tie a yellow ribbon round my Christmas tree
For all the angels to see.

One soldier not home by Christmas Eve
Must close his eyes and believe
That he rides a shooting star home
Before the morning light
There will be peace on earth tonight.

Let's round up the stars tonight
Heavenly orders for a midnight flight
No reindeer need volunteer
My sled is led
By love and holiday cheer.
If I had one wish
To write on my Christmas list
I'd seal my list
With a mistletoe kiss
That  just for one night
The world must insist
That our loved ones,
That our love ones.
Be home for Christmas.
